For more than two years Coventry has been open and transparent that nearly all local authorities – of different sizes and political colours – are facing unprecedented financial challenges due to long-term underfunding in the sector.

We face a £10.8m net gap for 2025/26. In addition to the underfunding issue, this is largely caused by financial pressures in social care and housing.  Additional government resources have helped mitigate pressures, but savings are still expected to be required to balance the books.

We've put together these webpages to help explain the situation, detail our proposals and advise you on how to have your say. We'll also be sharing information on our social media pages and in our weekly newsletter
