Why we collect and use Personal Data about you

We collect and hold personal information in relation to the Household Support Fund Evaluation.

We use this information to:

  • Evaluate the impact the fund is having on residents
  • To enable us to offer support in the right way
  • Help us to develop and improve our services

We process personal data because it is necessary to comply with our legal obligations and our lawful basis is Public Task.

Should you agree and wish to participate further, recordings of telephone conversations or 1-1 interview notes will be held.

Who we share your Personal Data with

The personal data provided in the evaluation will be used to create a report about the impact of the fund on Coventry residents.  The report will be anonymised and you will not be identified in the results.

We will share the report with:

  • Customer Services and other internal Coventry City Council Departments
  • DWP (Department for Work and Pensions)

How long will we keep your information?

We will only keep your information for as long as is necessary to fulfil the cited purpose of the evaluation. The evaluation will ensure that any identifiable data will not be kept for any longer than is necessary. They will also ensure that all identifiable personal information will be destroyed in line with Coventry City Council’s Retention and Disposal Schedule at the end of the retention period.

Your rights

You have the right to:

  1. Ask to see the personal information we hold about you
  2. Ask us to change information we hold about you if it is wrong
  3. Ask us to delete the information we hold about you
  4. Ask us to limit the way we use your personal information
  5. Complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office

Complaints

You have the right to submit a complaint if you are unhappy with the way your request is handled or disagree with a decision made by the council regarding your data. In these circumstances you can contact the Data Protection Team (DPO) and request a review of the decision DPOTeam@coventry.gov.uk
