Coventry City Council has announced that free Wi-Fi is now available in a number of Council buildings across the city.
The new network is available to all visitors to the buildings enabling them to connect to the internet during their visit.
Accessing the network is simple. Just select ‘CCC Guest Wi-Fi’ on your device and accept the terms and conditions.
After connecting to the network, you’ll be able to use the Wi-Fi for the rest of the day. However, you will need to repeat the process every time you visit the building.
Cllr Patricia Hetherton, Cabinet Member for City Services, said “We recognise that using your own data when inside our buildings, particularly given the ongoing cost of living crisis, was far from ideal. That’s why I’m really pleased that we’re now able to offer free wi-fi at our buildings in the city.
“The network is quick, easy and safe to connect to. So next time you visit one of our buildings, make sure you take advantage of it!”
The launch of the free wi-fi is just the latest programme by the Council’s #CovConnects initiative to provide the city’s residents with access to the digital world.
Alongside free wi-fi, residents can access devices and databanks across the city thanks to the initiative.
Cllr Richard Brown, Cabinet Member for Strategic Finance and Resources, said: “It’s brilliant that we’ve been able to expand our support for Coventry residents with the creation of this free Wi-Fi network.
“As we’ve said before, Our #CovConnects Initiative is all about ensuring that our city can take advantage of the digital world and the opportunities it brings. Step one in doing that is ensuring people have opportunities to connect. This public wi-fi does that.”
