Coventry City Council’s digital inclusion programme, #CovConnects, has been working with Stoke Heath Primary School to support their students in developing their aspirations for careers in digital technology.
The team recently visited the school during their career’s day, where students learned more about different career pathways.
Engaging in exciting activities throughout the day, the pupils spoke to a range of professionals from different fields of work.
Attending the day for the third year in a row, #CovConnects helped students to understand more about online safety through the use of an interactive video from the National Cyber Security Centre.
Previous years activities saw students try out virtual reality (VR) based experiences from the Coventry Libraries and Information service.
Delyth Bowen, Strategic Pastoral Support Lead, told us:
"The pupils learned so much from the #CovConnects team, they didn’t stop talking about it for days afterwards! Not only did they educate our pupils about keeping safe online, in a fun, interactive way, but they also fed into the overall theme of the day – Breaking gender stereotypes. It is always a pleasure working with this dedicated and professional team. We are looking forward to having them back again next year! "
