We have created bespoke apprenticeship pathways to enable schools and other educational organisations to develop their own specialist who support the school to embed outdoor education within their setting.

Outdoor Learning Specialist (Level 5) with QTLS

Our Level 5 apprenticeship allows schools to gain a qualified practitioner (at no cost). The only commitment is one day study release a week for up to 2 years.

Developing technical and subject specific outdoor education competencies through a mix of academic portfolio coursework and vocational qualifications.

Learners will be able to apply for QTLS status funded by Coventry Outdoors, through the Society for Education and Training on completion of this apprenticeship should they wish to.

  • L5 Diploma in Education and Training (Outdoor Learning Specialism)
  • L2 Wilderness Therapy Practitioner (Optional)
  • L3 Forest School Leader Training (Optional)
  • L3 Learning Beyond the Classroom (Optional)
  • L3 Wild Passport Practitioner (Optional)
  • L3 Outdoor First Aid (Essential)
  • L2 Safeguarding Training (Essential)

Outdoor Activity Instructor (Level 3)

A chance to develop a career in an outdoor education or activity environment.

Qualifications & Awards included:

  • Residential Centre Duty Management

A range of NGB Qualifications may include;

  • Canoeing/ Kayaking
  • Climbing
  • Archery
  • Bushcraft, Habitat & Wildlife
  • Mountain Leader
  • L3 Outdoor First Aid
  • L3 Safeguarding
