Course Aim

Key Autism awareness training for all practitioners working in settings, with children and young people who are on the Autism spectrum’ 

Focus on the four key areas of difference that need to be considered when working with children and young people with Autism by understanding the individual child and their strengths and differences. 

Identify key areas to help children build positive relationships with those around them and developing an awareness of Neurodivergence/ sensory/communication/interaction differences that pupils on the Autism spectrum experience 

By the end of the course, participants will be able to demonstrate awareness of the following:

  • Raise awareness of Autism Spectrum Condition.
  • Develop a shared understanding of some of the challenges that children with autism face.
  • Increase confidence in providing an appropriate learning environment.
  • Build a bank of strategies that can be used to support children with autism in the mainstream classroom.
