A guided ride along the new Coventry Canal Towpath - Video and audio transcripts

Tony Paplaukas: So, we’re leading a ride today along the Canal towpath. We started at Coventry Canal Basin just outside the city centre and made our way up here to Hawkesbury Junction. It’s about a 5 and a quarter mile run, so in total, there and back, about 11 miles. We’ve been working with the Canal and River Trust to put this ride on to really sort of show people the fact that they’ve got a brand new resurfaced towpath which is great for walking and cycling. A lot of people who come on the rides talk about being able to use the Canal towpath as a means of commuting, a commuter route, or even just a nip to the shops or just have a little ride up and down themselves when the weather’s nice – not like today!
