They also work with the perinatal mental health team, community mental health teams and health visiting team. As well as other secondary services such as NHS Talking Therapy (previously IAPT) and voluntary peer support services, to support women to accessing the correct care for their needs.Perinatal mental health midwives are a big part of the Lotus team at UHCW, who also support teenage parents during and after pregnancy; as well as pregnant Refugee’s and Asylum seekers, and women needing support with Substance and Alcohol misuse. The midwives work closely together, as some women may require support from several areas of the team antenatally and postnatally.
Please speak to your midwife if you feel you may benefit from the care the Lotus team can offer. You can also explore other services that offer mental health support through the website.
