Teachers will ensure through the science curriculum that all pupils develop scientific knowledge and conceptual understanding through the specific disciplines of biology, chemistry and physics. That they develop understanding of the nature, processes and methods of science through different types of science enquiries that help them to answer scientific questions about the world around them and that they are equipped with the scientific knowledge required to understand the uses and implications of science, today and for the future
In line with The National Curriculum at Key Stage 3 pupils will be taught the following content:
Biology:
Structure and function of living organisms
Material cycles and energy
Interactions and interdependencies
Genetics and evolution
Through the content covered across all three disciplines, pupils will also be taught:
Working Scientifically:
Scientific attitudes
Experimental skills and investigations
Analysis and evaluation
