Personal and Social Development - Toolkit for Life One day per week for 6 weeks. Designed specifically for disengaged pupils at risk of becoming NEET. It builds learners’ confidence and develops their personal and study skills to enable them to stay in education or training and find a Career pathway to help them achieve their dreams and goals.
The course is for girls and boys in years 8-11 in either mixed or separate groups. It’s based on the NCFE awarding body Personal & Social Development Award enabling learners to develop:
Greater self-awareness and appreciation
Techniques to manage their Wellbeing
Improved confidence and self-esteem
Greater resilience
Increased emotional control and emotional intelligence
Techniques to cope with situations they find challenging
The course is highly inter-active, learner-centred, and ‘hands-on’ with practical activities which explore situations where learners lack confidence and enable them to develop strategies to cope. Learners take part in a range of activities where they can demonstrate and develop their skills which increases their confidence. Learners gather evidence of the new skills and knowledge they gain and receive a Career Seekers Direct certificate of participation recognising their achievement. Learners’ development is also assessed as they complete a Wellbeing assessment at the start and end of the course.
N.B. The course may be provided for individual schools on their own premises for a small group of learners. The price for this is available upon application - Qualification (If Applicable)
