We have vast experience of working in the utility, hospitality and catering, health & social care, secondary and higher education, charities and manufacturing sectors.
1 day per week for 6 weeks. Part of our Toolkit for Life programme, this course is designed specifically for disengaged and creative pupils.
Highly inter-active, pupil-centred, and ‘hands-on’ with practical activities, with the aim of becoming your own “repair shop” and developing hands on skills.
Have you ever thought about repairing your own bicycle? Is there a piece of furniture in your home that needs some TLC? This is the latest craze and could perhaps be your introduction to your very own enterprise!
During the 6 weeks you will do the following :
Upcycle items of furniture
Repair pushbikes
Upcycle and repair household items
While doing the activities you will learn and develop skills in the following areas:
Listening
Speaking
Problem-solving

Enterprise
Aiming high
Teamwork
Creativity
Planning
Customer service
Research and leadership
Environmental awareness and the circular economy
Health and Safety aspects relevant to the activity
Learners gather evidence of the new skills and knowledge they gain and receive a Career Seekers Direct certificate of participation recognising their achievement. CV development is included to ensure learners include all of their skills, experience and personal attributes. They also receive a folder to keep all evidence and materials in e.g. photos of participation.
The wellbeing of learners is assessed both pre and post-course with follow up on any issues identified.
Course venues will be selected to provide good value, high-quality and safe facilities.
N.B. The course may be provided for individual schools on their own premises for a small group of learners. The price for this is available upon application
