The Diploma in Work-based Trees and Timber enables you to develop the skills in forestry and arboriculture that employers are looking for. Pathways include forestry establishment, maintenance and harvesting, green wood trades, and arboriculture.
This qualification covers all the essential skills and knowledge for a career in forestry including:
Forestry harvesting
Forestry establishment and maintenance
Forestry social
Forestry green wood trades
Arboriculture.
Students will also receive qualifications in:
CS30/31 – 5-day Combined Chainsaw Maintenance, Cross Cutting and Felling up to 380mm course.
This popular training course runs the candidate through all of the relevant theoretical and practical aspects that are required to pass NPTC Units CS31 (202) and allows successful candidates to fell trees commercially up to 380mm in diameter. The first day is workshop-based, covering legislation, risk assessments, basic chainsaw maintenance, chain ID, sharpening and organising site safety, the second day consists of practical learning.
