Plumb Learning was born from this belief, founded by a dedicated mother of three Hayley, with a vision to create inclusive, hands-on learning opportunities that go beyond the traditional classroom.
Our journey is not just about teaching plumbing; it’s about opening doors to social mobility, building confidence, and reigniting a passion for learning in young people.
Integrating a range of hands-on vocational skills, PSHE based workshops and creative activities designed to build confidence, develop skills crucial to independent living and improve employability. The young people will participate in a mixture of independent and small group projects. Through a curriculum of learning opportunities designed to engage the entire body and mind they will see improvements in both their physical and mental health whilst acting as a stepping stone towards improved social mobility, the development of specialist vocabulary and positive conflict resolution skills. The course offers a safe space for young people to connect, develop new interests and build healthy relationships. Based around a series of small achievable goals it is flexible to adapt to the needs of each individual student without the need for separation.
The activities will fall within the following subjects:
Tiling, plumbing, entrepreneurship, professional skills and attitudes, structural engineering, conservation skills, independence, challenging assumptions, identifying skills and qualities, understanding rights and responsibilities and design thinking.
