Bright Outcomes Ltd provides a unique, home-based alternative provision for young people unable to attend school due to EBSA, SEND, or Mental Health difficulties. We focus on academic progress, community inclusion, and employment preparation, with support from qualified teachers and experienced mentors to ensure each student’s progression. Our aim is to be the bridge back to education, not the final destination—equipping students with the academic skills, confidence, and independence they need to return to school and succeed.
This course is delivered in the home to students who are unable to attend on site provision.
Week 1: Introduction to Gangs
• Topics Covered: o Defining gangs: characteristics and types (e.g., street gangs, organized crime). o Historical context and evolution of gang culture.
• Activities: o Group discussion on perceptions of gangs in society.
Week 2: The Psychology of Gang Involvement
• Topics Covered: o Factors influencing gang membership: social, economic, and psychological. o Understanding the motivations for joining gangs (e.g., belonging, identity, protection).
• Activities: o Case studies on individual stories of gang involvement.
Week 3: Crime and Gang Activity
• Topics Covered: o Types of criminal activities associated with gangs (e.g., drug trafficking, violence, extortion). o The relationship between gangs and the broader criminal justice system.
• Activities: o Analysis of crime statistics and their implications for communities.
Week 4: The Influence of Gangs on Communities
• Topics Covered: o Examining the impact of gangs on community safety, cohesion, and youth. o The role of socio-economic factors in gang proliferation.
• Activities: o Group brainstorming session on community responses to gang activity.
Week 5: Prevention and Intervention Strategies
• Topics Covered: o Overview of effective prevention and intervention programmes (e.g., outreach, education, mentorship). o The role of law enforcement, community organizations, and families in addressing gang issues.

Week 6: Moving Forward: Building Resilient Communities
