This course is delivered in the home to students who are unable to attend on site provision.

This comprehensive course aims to provide participants with essential knowledge about teenage pregnancy, addressing its complexities and promoting informed decision-making. Through interactive discussions, practical activities, and expert insights, participants will explore the following key areas: •
Understanding Teenage Pregnancy: o Defining teenage pregnancy and examining its prevalence in different communities. o Discussing the factors that contribute to teenage pregnancy, including social, economic, and cultural influences.

• Health and Wellbeing: o Exploring the physical and emotional health implications for pregnant teenagers and their babies. o Understanding prenatal care, nutrition, and the importance of regular medical check-ups.
• Education and Future Opportunities: o Discussing the impact of teenage pregnancy on education and career prospects. o Strategies for balancing parenting responsibilities with educational goals.

• Support Systems: o Identifying available resources for pregnant teenagers, including healthcare, counselling, and educational support. o The role of family, peers, and community in providing emotional and practical support.

• Parenting Skills and Life Skills: o Basic parenting skills and the challenges of raising a child as a teenager. o Developing life skills, including time management, communication, and financial literacy, to empower participants in their roles as parents.

• Empowerment and Decision-Making: o Encouraging informed decision-making regarding pregnancy, parenting, and future aspirations. o Building self-esteem and confidence to navigate the challenges of teenage pregnancy.

• Community Awareness and Advocacy: o Exploring the importance of raising awareness about teenage pregnancy in the community. o Strategies for advocating for better support services and educational programs for young parents.

The course will be led by experienced facilitators and healthcare professionals who provide valuable insights and guidance.

By the end of the course, participants will have gained a comprehensive understanding of teenage pregnancy, equipped with practical tools and resources to support themselves and others in their community.
