Aspire and Thrive
At Aspire and Thrive, we provide therapeutic mentoring services for children and young people who display outward signs of social, emotional, and mental health needs.
Our mentoring spaces and courses are delivered 1:1 in the community. Each mentoring session is three hours in duration. Aspire and Thrive provide transport to and from the mentoring space, collecting and returning children or young people before and after their mentoring space.
Aspire and Thrive are committed to embedding a consistent approach to practice throughout our service. This means we will emphasise a safeguarding ethos and a safe, containing culture that prioritizes children's and young people's mental health and well-being in everything we do. Our approaches are trauma-informed, attachment-aware, and therapeutic.

As caring and nurturing adults, Aspire and Thrive are responsible for guiding children and young people towards young adulthood. We assist in the development of emotional intelligence, enabling them to understand their feelings and recognize how we experience ourselves influences interaction, participation, and communication. This approach allows children to learn how to identify, name, and respond to their feelings with increasing awareness and safety.

At Aspire and Thrive, we are genuinely attuned to children's emotional needs and respond accordingly. Our colleagues explain what they are doing, why they are doing it, and being consistent in their communication and commitments. We strive to create emotionally safe environments for children and young people, attempting to prevent re-traumatization by implementing policies, practices, and safeguarding arrangements. We recognize that these practices are responsive to individual needs and will contribute to protecting young people's opportunities to engage and learn.

Aspire and Thrive are curious to understand how unmet needs emerge within interaction, communication, and behaviour. To achieve this, we have worked closely with our team of clinical psychologists and behaviour specialists. This collaboration has developed a therapeutic model of Practice, allowing Aspire and Thrive to provide a psychologically informed practice framework that empowers professionals to be alongside and actively engage children and young people through the development of regulated authentic connections.

Our approach creates psychologically safe environments that foster personal development and individualized aspirations, enabling children and young people to experience encouraging opportunities and make positive contributions, regardless of their lived experiences.

Aspire and Thrive colleagues are highly trained, being inducted across four weeks of task-related learning, upskilling, and preparation to meet the needs of our children and young people.
At least once per half term, Aspire and Thrive colleagues have three learning days; these are mandatory and include:

• Reflective Practice with our clinical team
• Group supervision with our clinical team
• Therapeutic Practice training with our clinical team
