Course Aims

The aims of the "Induction for Foster Carer" training program are: 

1. Provide a space for foster carers to come together to share learning and develop important networks of support. 

2. Offer useful information to support those beginning their fostering journey. 

3. The induction training is part of all new foster carers' personal development plan specifically designed for post-approval/post-panel.   

Course Outcomes

  1. Recognising the responsibilities and expectations of fostering 

  1. Understanding the role of social worker and team around the child professionals 

  1. Understanding allowances, support services 

  1. Promoting well-being for carers by enabling foster carers to establish self-care routines and support networks
