Why do we collect and use Personal Data about you?
We collect and hold personal information relating to you and your personal circumstances upon commencing the project.
We use this information to:
- to facilitate and deliver the Coventry Employment and Skills Project and ensure each Party is able to comply with their requirements and responsibilities with regards to the delivery the project.
- to facilitate and inform the arrangement of future initiatives.
- to provide regular reports on progress of current ongoing activities, and services delivered.
- to enable monitoring of funding.
- in order to comply with our legal and regulatory obligations
We process personal data because it is necessary to comply with our legal obligations and perform our public duty.
What information do we collect about you?
- Full name
- Contact details
- Education and employment history
- Information about your financial circumstances so that we can offer appropriate support
- Any health and disability issues you may have which may impact the type of support we can offer you
- Family circumstances - such as who is in your household
- Emergency contact details
- Ethnicity, race and gender for monitoring and evaluation purposes
- Information about your housing situation so that we can offer you appropriate support
- Criminal record
- Services and support you require
Who do we share your personal data with?
We share data with:
- Potential Employers – so that you can apply for vacancies or opportunities
- Partner Organisations- if they are offering support that you may need
- Housing Organisations - if you need help with housing
- Training providers – when you need to be referred
- External organisations - when we have identified support that you need from them
- Charitable organisations – so that they can support you with Charity Grant applications
- Other Council departments – such as Housing Benefits or Council Tax when our money advisors are giving you help on how to manage debts, housing benefit or Council tax arrears or when you are applying for benefits
- WMCA – for reporting and monitoring purposes
How long will we keep your information?
We will only keep your information for as long as we need to so we can give you the service you need, unless we must keep it for legal reasons. For the purpose of this funding, we are required to keep your data for a period of 6 years after the end of the project.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Ask to see the personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to change information we hold about you if it is wrong
- Ask us to delete the information we hold about you
- Ask us to limit the way we use your personal information
- Complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office

Complaints
You have the right to submit a complaint if you are unhappy with the way your request is handled or disagree with a decision made by the council regarding your data. In these circumstances, you can contact the Data Protection Team (DPO) and request a review of the decision. dpoteam@coventry.gov.uk
