"A horse in the Guildhall? The mess!" Step back in time as St Mary’s Guildhall comes to life with a bold original production set in Tudor Coventry. One October evening in 1548, Coventry man Whitfield Saunders prepares to take on the mantle of Lord Mayor. As preparations for the lavish festivities spiral out of control, and a band of minstrels mock his every move, he scrambles to salvage the city’s coffers from financial ruin. But when the nation’s greatest powers converge on Coventry in the pursuit of lost treasure, Whitfield’s big day may become his last.

This October, Coventry’s EGO Arts brings you Unholy Trinity, a raucous Tudor tale 476 years in the making. Please arrive at the entrance of St Mary's Guildhall on Bayley Ln between 7pm and 7.50pm. When you arrive, our hosts will guide you to Tales of Tea, the tearoom inside St Mary's Guildhall, where refreshments will be available from the bar. Tales of Tea is below ground level, accessible by staircase and lift. The show will begin promptly at 8pm and latecomers will not be admitted.

The show will begin in the courtyard (ground floor, outdoors). Then, you will be guided through the kitchen (ground floor) and up to the great hall (first floor) which is accessible by stairs and lift. Audiences will be required to stand for these first two sections, lasting around 10 minutes in total, and will be seated in the great hall for the remainder of the show. Please let us know if you will struggle to stand for the opening sections. The performers will not interact with the audience during the show. Unholy Trinity is a theatre performance and not an interactive experience. Recommended for ages 12+. Content warnings: some strong language and violence. Toilets are located on the ground floor through the reception at St Mary’s Guildhall. There will be no interval so we recommend going before the show.

St Mary's Guildhall is accessible from Bayley Ln, a cobbled street behind the Cathedral Ruins. If you are standing in University Square looking at Coventry Cathedral, it's the road to the left of the Cathedral Ruins. The entrance has a What3Words location of ///camp.range.dice. The nearest bus stop is in front of The Yard (formerly Drapers/Metropolis), a 2 minute walk from the entrance to St Mary's Guildhall. It is served by 11, 12X, 24, 24A, 25, 25A, 25X and X30. For other buses, St Mary's Guildhall is a 5 minute walk from Trinity St / Cross Cheaping, and a 7 minute walk from Pool Meadow Bus Station. Salt Lane car park is a 5 minute walk from St Mary's Guildhall. There is limited Blue Badge parking available at the side of the building on St Mary Street. Parking charges may apply.

There is an accessible toilet on the ground floor through the reception at St Mary’s Guildhall. Most of the play takes place in the Great Hall which is on the first floor, accessible by lift. Free companion tickets are available for those accompanying a wheelchair user, or accompanying someone who cannot attend on their own due to a disability.
