We are always looking for approved foster carers to join our team and if you are considering leaving your current agency, we would love to hear from you. Call us on 024 7683 2828 or enquire online.
We follow the guidance in The Fostering Network’s Transfer Protocols which recommends good practice guidelines when an approved foster carer wishes to transfer from one fostering agency to another.
Here are some of the reasons you may wish to transfer to Foster with Coventry:
- Closer working between your supervising social worker and the child's social worker - to work together in the best interest of the children and for them to achieve the best possible outcomes.
- Our foster carers are most likely to have regular care arrangements - At Coventry City Council we always look to our own team of foster carers to provide foster homes for the children in our care and to keep them local to their family, friends and school.
- We do not make a profit from fostering - We want to keep tax-payers money invested into the provision of local quality public services which help support our children and our City.
- We value foster carers' experiences and have an excellent financial package - We can match the payments currently being paid to you by your current agency, if you were to transfer to us. Our Level 3 carers receive between £436.60 and £568.66 per week, depending on the age of the child / young person you care for. Details of these are in our leaflet. We also pay additional payments for additional costs such as holidays and birthdays. Most carers now find this is comparable or better than other fostering agencies.
- We have an extensive, locally delivered, quality training package for the whole team - We provide foster carers the opportunity to access high-quality local or online training to enable them to develop their skills and knowledge.
- Our local team provides your support 24/7 - All our foster carers benefit from their own allocated supervising social worker. Our Team also cover the 24/7 helpline for our foster carers, meaning that you have local support should an issue arise out of hours. As part of our team, you also have access to other related support services including a mentor and other specialised services.
- We are a community - We have an active ‘Coventry Foster Carers’ Association’ which runs several events from social meet-ups, coffee mornings to bigger events when possible. As a Service, we also run a number of events throughout the year. All of these events recognise and celebrate the whole ‘fostering family’ including other children in the household. Find out more about our foster carer events.
As an approved foster carer with Coventry, when you refer a friend or family member, you would be eligible for a referral bonus of £500 when they are approved as a foster carer with Coventry.
