Coventry HDRC invites everyone to its yearly webinar, where a range of guest speakers will discuss the importance of research and how it can impact our communities.
We all hear the term research, but it is often difficult to define what it means for each individual as it is so broad. In this webinar, speakers will provide clear examples of how they have applied research on small and large scales and its impact on local people's lives. These examples have been applied in local authority, voluntary, community, social enterprise organisations, and university settings. These research projects often happen across all as part of a collaborative approach and involve the public.
Talks to be delivered include:
- Professor Sir Michael Marmot will demonstrate how the Institute of Health Equity research work is making a difference
- Sue Frossell, Director of Coventry HDRC, will host a discussion around the work that has been carried out as a result of previous feedback
- Cllr Kamran Caan and Allison Duggal, Director of Public Health and Wellbeing, explains why research is so important and the impact it can have on our communities
- Dr Christine Grant, Coventry University, talks about assessing the lived experience of disabled and/or neurodivergent remote workers
- Emma Austin, CELC, and Tara Mulqueen, University of Warwick, promote the importance of early intervention and understanding local needs
- Sinead Ouillon, Director of Research Development Coventry University, showcases the Citizen Social Science course and the benefits of upskilling members of the public
- Dr Nathan Hodson, Warwick Medical School, delivers How We Used Participatory Research to Develop the Pause Parenting App
There will also be a panel Q&A opportunity and an interactive breakout for discussion.
