How to use Borrow Box

Use Borrow Box online via the app
- Go to the app once installed on your device
- You will need your library card number (the 14-digit number on the back of your library card starting 28002....)
- You will need your PIN (a 4-digit number provided when you joined the library). Don’t know your PIN? Request your PIN [https://myaccount.coventry.gov.uk/service/Libraries___pin_request]. If you need your PIN urgently, phone any library during opening hours.
- Sign in; type in and select Coventry City Library, enter your library card number, enter your PIN
The Borrow Box app is available for smartphones and tablets that run the Android or iOS operating system (including Amazon Kindle Fire devices - these run the Android OS and the Borrow Box app is available in the Amazon app store). You will need to visit the app store for your device and download the app. The app is the easiest way to use the service.
- If you have an Android device (most Samsung, Sony etc devices), the Borrow Box app is available through the Play Store .
- If you have an iOS device (all Apple devices), the Borrow Box app is available through the App Store [https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/borrowbox-library/id562843562].
- If you have an Amazon Kindle Fire device, the Borrow Box app is available through the Amazon Appstore .
Use Borrow Box online via the website
- Go to the Borrow Box [https://coventry.borrowbox.com/] website
- You will need your library card number (the 14-digit number on the back of your library card)

- If you have suddenly lost access to Borrow Box (i.e. it has logged you out), your library card has probably expired. Renew your library card [https://www.coventry.gov.uk/info/126/libraries/3213/join_find_use/10].
- If you can’t log in to Borrow Box, you can visit us, or phone us, or email libraries247@coventry.gov.uk [mailto:libraries247@coventry.gov.uk] and we will check your membership record for any blocks on your ticket. Blocks are automatically applied if you owe us over £10, have overdue items on your card, have reported your card as lost or stolen, or have been banned from using the library service.

From December 2024 Coventry Libraries provide e-magazines via Borrowbox ePress [https://www.coventry.gov.uk/libraries-1/e-audiobooks-e-books-e-magazines]. You can download it now for free with your Coventry Libraries membership.

Library customers can access digital content via the BorrowBox [https://www.coventry.gov.uk/ebooks]app, which is included as part of your membership,
Using your phone, tablet, laptop or PC, library customers can now access books from chart-topping authors, such as Lee Child and Lynda La Plante, listen to audiobooks including biographies read by the authors, catch up on national and local news including The Coventry Telegraph or browse the wide selection of magazines includes fashion, health and technology.
BorrowBox is designed to be exceptionally easy to use for all members of the library community.
BorrowBox is available from the App Store and Google Play. You need only to download the app and log in with you Coventry Libraries library card number and PIN.
