The Licensing Team are responsible for the administration and enforcement of a wide range of licenses, permits and registrations. We have a very varied workload and alongside issuing a range of licences we complete Licensing Inspections under the licensing regime, collect payment for premises annual fees and subsequently have the powers to suspend a licence for non-payment of these fees.

A personal licence is needed by anyone who authorises the sale of alcohol (Designated Premises Supervisor) In order to obtain a personal licence you must have sat the recognised licensing qualification and submit a clear Criminal Record Check - Temporary event notices [/info/860/licence-alcohol_and_entertainment/632/licence-temporary_event]
TENS - can be applied for by anyone who wishes to hold a small scale event and wants to carry out a licensable activity without a full licence. - House to house collections [/info/22/business_and_markets_licensing/713/house_to_house_collection_licences] and Street Collections [/info/22/business_and_markets_licensing/712/street_collection_licences].

How much does it cost?
The fixed fees for this quality service are inclusive of VAT. Fees cover the cost of administration, delivery of the service, and are not for profit.
We offer a basic check and send service for £36. Our pre-Application advice starts at £72. Payment for the service (which is in addition to the relevant application fee) will be made by Debit or Credit card.
Coventry City Council operates impartially and free from conflicts of interest. By using the service there is no guarantee that representations will not be received, and your application may still be subject to the formal hearing process. You should be aware that it is possible to obtain this same chargeable service and advice from Licensing Agents and Licensing Solicitors.
