A room of people sat on tables watching a speech being delivered by a lady at the careers hub launch event.

ThinkHigher, the local Uni Connect partnership working on behalf of Coventry City Council were excited to officially launch the new Coventry Careers Hub on Thursday 9 November.

The Coventry Careers Hub is funded by the Careers and Enterprise Company, WMCA, Coventry City Council and ThinkHigher. It provides expert advice and guidance to Coventry schools Careers Leads, helping them to develop comprehensive careers programmes for Coventry’s young people.

In addition, the Careers Hub provides vital connections to employers, specialised support programmes for the most disadvantaged students and support to set up a range of engaging careers events and much more!

The Coventry Careers Hub replaces the previous Coventry and Warwickshire Careers Hub. ThinkHigher were a key delivery partner in the previous Careers Hub and bring a wealth of experience in engaging with schools and employers as well as running other connected projects to support young people to aspire to higher education.

The event was attended by 15 school career leads who between them support the careers education of over 16,000 young people in Coventry.

Cllr Dr Kindy Sandhu, Cabinet Member for Education and Skills, said: “I am very excited to see the Coventry Careers Hub launch through our delivery partner ThinkHigher.

“The strong integration with Coventry City Council’s Education service, will provide strong partnerships working around a wide range of activity and projects starting from primary education.

“It will play a key role in building on the success of our Education Partnership supporting the Coventry Skills Strategy priorities, especially; ‘raising aspiration for Coventry’s young people’. I am looking forward to seeing the progression of the new hub and watching lots of young people in the city develop by using it.”
