Raising a family is a great privilege, and can often come with various challenges and pressures, and Coventry families are reminded that the eight Family hubs are “here to help” all families to thrive.
Whether you're a parent with young children, a teenager, or anyone in between, a Coventry Family Hub is the place to go to connect you with the help and guidance to ensure you receive the right help at the right time with the right people.
An open day took place on Tuesday 13 February at The Moat Family Hub which showcased the range of activities and support available for families within the Family hub offer, with over 350 people attending
Cllr Patricia Seaman, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said:
“Our Hubs have been very popular and have already helped many families. I would urge people to take a look at their local hub and see what is available right on their doorstep – I think they’ll be surprised at how much it offers.”
Jane Moffat, Early Help Operational Lead at Coventry City Council said:
“We see the Family Hubs as essential in delivering a range early help and support to our children, young people and their families across the city - they are the front door to many services and we encourage all Coventry families to make best use of the Hubs. They are here to help you!”
Coventry Family Hubs offer a diverse range of services designed to meet the needs of the entire family and community.
Examples of services offered include:
- Stay and play sessions for school readiness
- Baby and Me sessions for early childhood development and parent networking
- Support for children with special educational needs and their families
- Child and family health activities, including baby well-being clinics and feeding advice
- Guidance on finances, employment, and training; family support, relationship support, and targeted youth support for ages 11-19.
Lucy Gillion is a Parent Voice member, a group of Coventry parents and carers working to co-design and improve services for children aged 0-2 years in the city.
Following the family day at The Moat, Lucy said:
“As part of Parent Voice, I had the opportunity to be part of the family day where we got to speak with other parents and tell them all about what we do - the day was enjoyable and a great experience for all.”
Regardless of where you live within the city, Family Hubs are ready to provide support. You can drop into any of our eight Family Hubs between 8:30am and 5pm, you can telephone the free number 0800 8870545, or have someone familiar with your situation request help on your behalf.
