A sports ground in Tile Hill that has had a boundary footpath installed is to benefit from more improvements.
Jardine Crescent Sports Ground in Tile Hill – also known as the Ponderosa, was under used in the past, but since the completion of a 700metre boundary footpath, lots more people are enjoying the use of the green space.
To build on the improvements, plans are in place to install new illuminated bollards around the footpath.
It will allow people visiting the green space to use it even more. A new pond is planned too to help boost diversity.
Improvements are also planned to the boundary footpath in Morris Common in Stoke Heath.
Resurfacing work will help raise the path out of the occasional damper areas of the park and to protect the surface of the path.
Both schemes are expected to be in place by the start of the school summer holidays.
Cllr Kamran Caan, Cabinet Member responsible for Public Health and Sport, said:
“Our parks and open spaces are great places to be active. The health benefits are well knowns and I’m delighted we can make these improvements to both Jardine Crescent and Morris Common.
Runners and walkers are regularly using the footpaths and these are people of all ages. It’s fantastic to see."
Money to do the two schemes is from funding provided post-COVID to promote public health in communities.
