Cllr Mal Mutton on the left signs her declaration of acceptance with Coventry City Council Chief Executive Dr Julie Nugent, after winning the Radford election

Mal Mutton was re-elected to represent Radford ward after an election took place yesterday.

The seat was originally set to be contested with the 17 other local elections on 2 May this year but had to be rearranged when one of the candidates died a few days before polling day.

It led to the contest to be rearranged for Thursday 20 June and Cllr Mutton, who has held the seat since 2008, was elected with a 754 majority and 58% of the vote. Turn-out was 14%.

Following her victory, Cllr Mutton will be formally appointed Lord Mayor of Coventry in the coming weeks after serving as Deputy Lord Mayor since May 2023.
