Coventry’s provisional results show that over half of the city’s secondary school sixth forms gained improvements in the high grades of A*-A and A*-B at A level.

In addition, over half of students achieved Distinction*/Distinction grades in their vocational qualifications in 2024.

Cllr Dr Kindy Sandhu, Cabinet Member for Education and Skills, said: "I am so proud of what Coventry’s young people have achieved. Congratulations to every single student who has sat A level and vocational qualification exams this year, particularly as they will have experienced some disruption to their education as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

“I’m thrilled that a record number of Coventry students have taken A levels and vocational qualifications this year. I’m even more delighted that their hard work and commitment has resulted in a truly fantastic set of results. One of the best set of results we’ve seen in recent times.

"I also want to thank school staff, as well as parents and carers, who have provided the vital care and support to help young people achieve these impressive results.

"I wish all students the very best of luck in their chosen pathways. A reminder that there is lots of help available whether you got the grades you expected or not."
