Coventry City Council’s Registrars are now offering appointments to new parents wishing to register births at the Moat House Family Hub in Wood End.
For the last few months, Registrars have been offering new parents the option to book appointments to register a birth at the usual location in Coventry Register Office, or the Mosaic Family Hub in Tile Hill. Due to the success of the trial, parents now have the option to book at The Moat Family Hub too.
Councillor Abdul Salam Khan, cabinet member for policing and equalities and deputy leader at Coventry City Council, said:
“It’s great that the service is adapting and that we can offer a more accessible service to our Coventry residents.
“It means that new parents have the option to book an appointment at a location that’s most convenient for them, whether they’d like to still visit the Register Office in the city centre or visit a Family Hub to register a birth.
“Offering appointments at the family hubs also means that new parents can access all of the other free services that are available through the Hubs, including information and advice, stay and play sessions and baby well-being clinics.
“We hope that, if the demand is there, we can roll this out to other Family Hubs across the city, to provide even more choice for people.”
Both The Moat Family Hub and the Mosaic Family Hub offer 11 appointments per day for new parents to register a birth on a specified day of the week. Appointments can be booked online.
