Overview
This 4-hour course will enable delegates to have a better understanding of basic first aid.
Target group
The course is aimed at any employee/volunteer working in areas where an emergency may arise but who does not need emergency first aid or first aid at work qualifications.
Aims
Delegates will be able to identify an emergency, ensure the safety of themselves a casualty or the public, summon appropriate help, perform lifesaving skills, prevent a casualty’s condition from deteriorating, promote recovery of a casualty, recognise the legal requirements and responsibility of an appointed person.

Emergency First Aid at work
Overview
Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) is a 1-day training course designed to provide first aiders with the knowledge and skills they need to respond effectively to emergency situations in the workplace.
Target group
Where the needs within the workplace demand First Aid cover.
Candidates should be calm, reliable and have the aptitude and ability to cope with a course of study.
Aim
Delegates will be able to identify a emergency in the workplace to ensure the safety of themselves, the casualty and the public, assess the extent of an injury or illness and summon for appropriate help. The candidate will be able to perform lifesaving skills, prevent any deterioration of a casualty’s condition, promote the recovery and recognise the legal requirements and responsibilities of a First Aider

First Aid at Work certificate course
Overview
First Aid at work (FAW) is a 3-day training course designed to provide first aiders with the knowledge and skills they need to respond effectively to emergency situations in the workplace.
The training is taught to delegates face to face and includes practical assessment, written question and answer session, group work and practical exercises
Target group
Where the need within the workplace demands cover from a First Aider. Candidates should be calm, reliable and have the aptitude, and ability, to cope with a course of study. They should be able to leave their place of work immediately to attend an emergency.

Delegates will be able to identify an emergency in the workplace to ensure the safety of themselves, the casualty and the public, assess the extent of an injury or illness
And summon for appropriate help. The candidate will be able to perform lifesaving skills, prevent any deterioration of a casualty’s condition, promote the recovery and recognise the legal requirements and responsibilities of a First Aider

Assessment
Exam including multiple and practical.
Infectious diseases
This 2-hour session can be bespoke to address specific workplace issues, such as Hepatitis B or be generalised to cover a number of common infectious agents.
All courses will cover prevention of infection, universal hygiene precautions such as hand washing and safe disposal of infected materials/substances.
Target group
All employees who may come into contact with body fluids and other potentially infectious material at work
All front-line workers at risk of passing on infection to vulnerable service users.
Course objectives
- Enable staff to develop and utilise safe systems of work to minimise any infection risk.
- Enable staff to develop strategies that will enable them to minimise risks of contracting or passing on infection.
