Evacuation chair
This 2½ hour course is designed to give the delegates the levels of knowledge and practical skills which are needed to facilitate the safe evacuation of other people who may not be able to evacuate a building under their own efforts.
Target group
Employees with nominated responsibility to assist staff who may have personal Emergency Evacuation Plans (PEEPs) in an emergency.
Note: It is important that the delegates are reasonably fit as the equipment requires an element of manual handling and manoeuvring.
Outcomes of this course
- Enable staff to become familiar with the available equipment and its location
- Gain the necessary skills to operate the equipment safely.

- Dynamic assessment at the point of the emergency
- Ways of transferring people to the chair
