City centre
The city centre is covered by a restricted parking zone. All double yellow lines have been removed, but it is illegal to park anywhere on-street in the city centre other than in clearly marked bays.
Here are the things you should know about the zone:
- The zone extends across the whole city centre. The start and end of the restricted parking zone are clearly indicated by traffic signs. Smaller repeater signs are located on-street throughout the zone.
- When parking on-street, you must park in marked bays.
- If you park in any other place, you will receive a Penalty Charge Notice.
- Most on-street parking bays are metered. You must pay the relevant fee to park when parked in a metered bay.
Remember - no marking - no parking.
