Go Parks: Active Schools Challenge

Our Go Parks: Active Schools Challenge returns from 9 June - 7 July!

This year the challenge will be a 'Paris 2024' special, celebrating the Olympics and Paralympics.

As always, the challenge is free, and this year will involve 37 parks and greenspaces around the city where participants can win virtual medals by scanning QR codes at each park. Every QR code scanned in the parks means more points to your chosen school. The school with the most points wins the challenge.

Any Coventry resident can take part as long as they are a member of Go CV. It's free to sign up as a Go CV member and can be done on the Go CV website [https://go-cv.co.uk/].

There will also be a range of pop-up activities in parks, exciting challenges and opportunities to win spot prizes along the way.

Coventry's School Games Organisers are partnering with us on the challenge once again.

All schools in Coventry are invited to participate and will receive instructions on how to get involved.

Coventry residents can also take part in and enjoy the Active School Challenge and will be able to allocate their points to a school of their choice.

Go Parks: Commonwealth Active Communities

Go Parks is a project delivered by Positive Youth Foundation which gives residents of Coventry new and exciting ways to use parks and green spaces in the city.

With an increasing number of people using parks and green spaces for activity, we’re promoting ways to be active in parks that are fun, simple and exciting. Go Parks will bring everything from sport and physical activity to wellbeing and cultural elements into your local park.

  • Increase physical activity for young people in the city
  • Encourage and increase park usage across the city
  • To reduce isolation and loneliness
