Coventry City Council welcomes all opportunities to work with local businesses where such arrangements support its core values. We would like to give local businesses or service providers the opportunity to promote products or services to our council employees. To offer Coventry City Council employees an ongoing discount or time-limited offer you will be required to fill in the below application form.
Coventry City Council will not advertise any products, services or businesses if, in the reasonable opinion of the Council, the advert:
- may be perceived as potentially inï¬uencing the Council or its officers in carrying out its statutory functions in order to gain favourable terms from the Council on any business, grant or other agreement
- aligns the Council with any organisation or individual which conï¬icts with its values and priorities.
The industry categories that are not acceptable for us to advertise to our employees include:
- Tobacco/cigarettes
- Gambling
- Adult-oriented products/services
- Armaments
- Petrochemical Industry
- Payday Loans
Furthermore, the Council will also not advertise:
- Organisations which do not comply with the Council’s advertising and sponsorship policy or the Advertising Standards Authority code of practice
- Organisations in dispute with the Council or where there is pending/active legal action. We will also not accept advertising or sponsorship from companies who are in contract negotiation with the Council where this may be viewed as an endorsement of this bid
- Organisations with a political purpose, including pressure groups and trade unions
- Organisations involved in racial or sexual prejudice or discrimination on the basis of disability, faith or gender
- Organisations through which, in our opinion, their operations are involved in any illegal or immoral activities.
- An organisation where it may be seen to damage the reputation of the Council
- Advertisements for businesses directly involved in the manufacturing and or promotion of fur garments or products.
The above lists are not exhaustive, and the Council retains the absolute right to decline advertising opportunities from any organisation or individual or in respect of particular products which the Council in its sole and absolute discretion considers inappropriate.

The Council will act reasonably in considering your application and will only respond to your application if we have chosen not to proceed with the advertisement to Council employees. We will put in writing the reason for rejecting the application within 28 days of receiving your application.
