Display Energy Certificates (DEC)

Display Energy Certificates (DEC) are required by law to be held for each qualifying building on a school site. The DEC is also accompanied by a Recommendation Report (DEC-RR) that is also required to be updated at regular intervals. The renewal frequency for these documents are dependent on the floor area of the building being certified.

The expiry date is clearly shown on your existing certification. For most schools there will be an annual requirement.

Pricing

The cost of DEC compliance for a school is dependent on a number of items including:

  • Number of qualifying buildings
  • Size of qualifying buildings
  • If a site visit is required
  • If a DEC-RR renewal is required
  • If we have assessed the site previously

Additional support

To undertake the certification, the assessor will require 12 months energy consumption data for each building being certified.
