Small business and public sector buildings
This programme will deliver measures for public buildings and schools across the city to lower carbon emissions and reduce energy costs. The proposition will combine different solutions for maximum impact, including solar, heat pumps, building fabric and other measures.
There is an obligation for the council to meet energy performance ratings within their own property portfolio – MEES – Minimum Energy Efficiency Standard. The SEP is seeking to develop a delivery model to achieve these standards as a minimum.
Private Small Medium Enterprises - so businesses in the city - will also be encouraged to decarbonise the buildings they operate from and the SEP will create commercial propositions to enable businesses to address this.
