Solar in schools
The SEP has begun a programme to deliver solar panels to local schools to lower carbon and reduce energy costs. We have started work on an initial programme, using Council secured funding and schools which will receive these panels (in phase 1) have been identified - further information will be available once work has commenced. We are also working on opportunities for a next phase of development to support more schools and these will be identified once phase 2 starts.
As part of the Solar in Schools programme we will identify social value initiatives to implement in schools whilst the work is being undertaken, so school children across the city are aware of climate change and its impact on the environment.
