Time Union Coventry (Est. 2014)
How does Time Union work?
Time Union is designed to mobilise the skills, talents, and goodwill of local people. We are a community-based system, where services are exchanged based on time rather than money. For example, if you spend an hour helping someone with gardening or teaching them an instrument, you earn a ‘time credit’ which you can later spend to receive an hour of help from someone else, whether its computer repair, crochet lessons, or learning a new language.
Far more than just an exchange of hours, Time Union brings people together to collaborate in a thriving, supportive network. This system nurtures connection and solidarity, ensuring everyone’s skills are valued whilst empowering people with a greater sense of agency in their own communities. Whether you are sharing your skills or learning from others, Time Union encourages meaningful contributions, reinforcing the idea that we all have something valuable to offer and we all have something valuable to gain. This not only enhances personal well-being but also builds a sense of community reliance, fostering sustainability by reducing reliance on external systems”
