Coventry hubs

This winter there’s lots of places all over Coventry that are free to call in to throughout the day where you can find a warm welcome as well as access information, take part in activities, or connect with other support.

We know there’s lots of other great places in Coventry that are open and free for people to access and over the coming weeks we’ll be adding these to the above map.

Libraries

Coventry has 17 public libraries. They provide free access to books, computers, Wi-Fi/internet, and other facilities such as scanning, photocopying, and printing (for a small charge). Libraries in Coventry have a number of specialist collections including resources to support ESOL (English to Speakers of Other Languages) and professionally accredited self-help collections to support you to manage your health and wellbeing. Libraries are also a great space to come together, with regular activities and events for both adults and children. Free activities include rhymetimes, storytimes, craft groups, poetry/readers groups, local history groups, and conversation cafes.

Family Hubs

Family Hubs are places in local communities that are open to any Coventry resident who needs help to live well and thrive in Coventry.  Each Family Hub provides a “here to help” service Monday- Friday. Staff are particularly experienced in helping children, young people and their families but are happy to help anyone who comes in, phones up, emails or makes contact through social media. Family Hubs provide access to public computers, free Wi-fi, scanning and printing facilities, and access to the National databank (free data, SIM cards etc).  They also all have food pantries, Clothing rails, provide Food Bank vouchers, apply for Fuel vouchers and help you connect to a local Food Hub.

Staff can spend time with you understanding what you are worried about, what is working well in your family, and what might need to happen next to help you overcome any challenges. They will then support you to get access to services including booking you into see advisors working in the Family Hubs to help with welfare, benefits, debt and housing concerns. Family Hubs also have a range of activities and events that you and your children can attend. All would warmly welcome you and be happy to put the kettle on, make a cuppa and some toast and have a chat about how they can help.
