About weighbridge operators
Trading Standards Officers test the competence of Public Weighbridge Operators and issue a certificate before public weighings can be carried out. Records are kept of all public weighbridges and the locations of the nearest public weighbridges are given on request.
Anyone carrying out public weighings (usually on a weighbridge) for which a charge is made needs to hold a certificate showing they have sufficient knowledge to carry out their duties competently and honestly.
Application process
To submit a request for certification at a site in Coventry, please complete the online form. We will contact you to confirm an appointment for a short test of the applicant's knowledge and performance of duties.
