University of Warwick Holiday Scheme - Holiday activities and food

The University of Warwick Holiday Scheme is held on campus in the Avon Building (Westwood). We welcome children from 8.30am until 9.30am and collection starts at 4pm until 5.30pm. Our ethos is centred around offering children experiences they might not have engaged with before. We organise for children to have specialist sessions from professional companies which support our 'theme of the day.'

Activities are for children aged 4 years old to 12 years old.

This club is free for HAF-eligible children with a HAF code

Book 1 session at a time, each session is 1 credit

A hot meal, desert, snack and drink will be available to all HAF children. We are using Mandy's Gang Hut Kitchen as they offer a HAF compliant menu and have been approved by School Food Standards. The exact menu will be finalised closer to the time and can caters for dietary requirements when requested.

We welcome children with SEND and do our upmost to make our programme accessible to many children as possible. Before the child attends our setting, we have a conversation with the parent/carer to gain further information on the child's needs. We then asses is we can meet the needs of the child and if the Scheme is suitable. If we are confident that we can support the individual we work with the parents on how we can best support the child and discuss this will all staff during training.

We recommend that children wear loose, comfortable clothing whilst on the Holiday Scheme. For some activities children will need to bring a change of clothing and/or footwear. For recommendations on what your child should bring each day please check the activity timetable on our website. Please ensure your child does not come in their best clothes and are prepared for all weather types. Layers of clothing and a waterproof coat is essential as we will outside as much as possible.
