Safety advice and support
- Supporting specific health and safety policies and procedures.
- Managing the consultation process through Corporate and Operational Health and Safety Committees
- Audit of health and safety management systems and compliance with legislation
- Supporting the development of Health and Safety Action Plans
- Site-based monitoring and inspections
- Supporting with risk assessments and control measures
- Managing the incident reporting for the City Council
- Reporting RIDDOR reportable accidents/incidents to the HSE
- Liaison with other local authority departments to ensure systems are joined up, including advising on asbestos and legionella
- Specialist technical advice/support during major refurbishment/building work, meeting the requirements of the CDM Regulations
- Liaison with the HSE, Police, Fire Service, insurance services and other agencies, in accident reduction initiatives
- Support with emergency planning and fire safety
- Assessment of first aid provision
