Note: A licence is issued to an individual who is in attendance at the premise, rather than to a premise, partnership or company. It is not transferable to another person.
Street Café Licence 15-20 sq metres annual (one off) £450 Per licence Licence required for the placing of tables and chairs on the highway in connection with licensed or other food and drink premises. Annual charge for Renewal of Street Café Licence £125 Per licence Annual renewal of licence required for the placing of tables and chairs on the highway in connection with licensed premises. The combination of a lower than average renewal fee would support responsible operators, to continue trading as a café, bar or restaurant on a public pavement.

Charge for Use of Patio heaters (each) £75 Per heater Environmental levy as the premises will no longer conform to energy efficiency policies.
Traffic Management or Development Control related request letters by Solicitors and other organisations. £225 Per letter Charge applies to solicitors applying on behalf of clients requiring information about traffic management arrangements and other related information, usually as part of an insurance claim following a road traffic accident. These are applicable as the some requests for additional information fall outside the remit of Con29 enquiries.
Temporary Order for planned works on or adjacent to the highway £2400 Per order Temporary Traffic Regulation Order; Includes temporary road closures and other restrictions to facilitate works on or adjacent to the highway. Any orders requiring additional advertising beyond standard costs may be subject to additional charges.
Temporary Notice for unplanned or short duration works on or adjacent to the highway £890 Per notice For emergency works and short duration restrictions only. This includes temporary road closures and other restrictions, (Traffic Management planning)
Notice of Event - Single Advert Only £1250 Per notice This includes temporary road closures and other restrictions to facilitate works on or adjacent to the highway. (Traffic Management planning).
Licence for Temporary signs on the Highway (Maximum duration 6 months) £350 Per licence This could include directional signage to housing developments, private premises, land etc. Maximum 6 months.
Retrospective Licence and fixed penalty for Temporary signs on the Highway without authorisation or Licence £500 Per licence This is a fixed penalty processed as a Retrospective Licence in locations where Licence conditions are met. This process incurs additional administration cost and inspection fees that are recoverable. It is intended that this charge will act as a deterrent and improve developer, retailer and other contractor performance who have a duty to observe the law. This will also enable the Council to identify and prosecute those illegally advertising on the highway or take other enforcement measure when necessary.
Switching off (including bagging over) and on of Signalised Junctions or Pedestrian Crossing £485 Per instance Charge to promoters of street and road works for switching on and off permanent traffic signals as part of on-site traffic management. Separate charge applies to both switch off and switch on.
