Nomination papers

Nomination papers can be downloaded from the Electoral Commission website or paper copies can be obtained from the Elections Office at Council House, Earl Street, Coventry.

Requests for register of electors have to be made by the candidate there is a request from on the below.

Nominations can be delivered from 10am until 4pm daily, from 3 June and no later than 4pm on 7 June. Nomination papers need to be signed by 10 electors, on the register of Parliamentary Electors for the relevant Constituency. This means an elector with a G or K Marker (this indicates they are a non-UK, EU Citizen) in front of their names is not eligible to sign a nomination paper.

We recommend that you make an appointment to return the nomination papers, this will mean that they can be informally checked prior to final submission.  Please contact the office on 024 7697 5226 to arrange a suitable time. You will be also provided with a briefing at this time of the key issues for the election and campaign.

Postal vote information

Postal votes will be dispatched in 2 issues, the first issue for anyone who had a postal vote in place on 31 May will be sent out on 19 June. Ballot papers for electors who were registered by 18 June and whose application to vote by post was receive between 1 June and 5pm on 19 June will be sent out on 26 June.  

All electors who have requested that ballot papers be sent overseas have been contacted and advised of the risks associated with being able to receive and return their ballot papers in time for them to be counted and provided with the option of changing their absent voting arrangements before 5pm on 19 June to a proxy vote.

Once nominations have closed all agents will be contacted with information regarding the appointment of polling and counting agents, together with other useful information regarding the count.

Postal votes will be opened from Monday 1 July to Wednesday 3 July starting at 9am each day until completed.  .

The count will take place at the Coventry Building Society Arena.  More details will be provided with the information letter.
