How to apply for permits

The dates on which you can begin to apply for permits and when the scheme will start is yet to be confirmed.

If you've already got a virtual blue badge permit for Zone TS, then you won't need to apply for a permit for Zone CL.

Register for an account online

  • If you have problems creating an account, please email parking.permits@coventry.gov.uk and they will assist you.
  • Once you've created an account, you will receive an automated email to confirm your email address. 
  • After confirming your email address, you will need to log back in and select your customer type:
    • Resident
    • Business
    • Church
      • This includes Church organisations such as the Diocesan Office
  • You can now apply for permits
  • Permit options will be automatically displayed once you have registered your account, unless you have used an address outside the CL Zone.
  • If you need access to the CL Zone, but live outside please email parking.permits@coventry.gov.uk and they will assist you.

Permits

This shows you what permits are currently active or you’ve applied for.

Permit applications available

This shows what permits you can apply for.

  • There will be several permit types available.
    • Resident (City Centre) permit
    • Business (City Centre) permit
    • Church permit
    • Cathedral permit
  • Click apply
  • Read and accept the Terms and Conditions
  • Enter your vehicle's registration.
  • Select the date you want the permit to start.
  • Upload requested proofs.
  • Submit your application
  • You will be notified when it's been approved and ready for use.
  • Vehicle details can be amended via the Permit Portal.

Buy/use vouchers

This allows you to obtain 1 day vouchers for your visitors.

  • Visitor vouchers are 1 day digital permits for ad-hoc visitors.
  • They are available via the Permit Portal once you have a valid business or resident permit.
    • Visitor Vouchers are like digital ’scratch cards’ and last for 1 day only. They can be pre-set for a specific date.
    • The vouchers run from 00:00am to 23:59pm on the day.
    • You can use more than 1 voucher if you have a visitor staying overnight or for more than a day.
    • Businesses (including Church and Cathedral) can activate a maximum of 10 daily Visitor Vouchers at the same time
    • Residents can activate a maximum of 3 daily Visitor Vouchers at the same time.
    • When a voucher has expired you can replace it the following day.
  • If you need visitor vouchers but don't have your own vehicle. You can apply for a permit using No VRM as the vehicle registration.
    • The Permits act as proof that you either live or have a Business in the scheme enabling you to activate vouchers without further proof.

To buy/use visitor vouchers

  •  Log into your account
    • Go to ‘Buy / Use’ Vouchers tab
    • Buy the number of Visitor Vouchers you require (Cost £0.00)
    • Enter the vehicle registration number
    • Enter the start and end dates
    • Click activate
    • Your Visitor Vouchers are now ready to use.
    • You can deactivate vouchers by clicking ‘deactivate’.
